Yesterday we wrote that Xiaomi is preparing a new line of Civi smartphones. The new products are expected to replace the CC series models in China. Yesterday it was said that the first device of the Civi series will be the renamed Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE, but today the data is different. First, the device was shown live on video, and the screenshots (they are of poor quality, but still) indicate that Civi is an independent model. Secondly, the same is said about the details of the camera.

The most recent screenshot shows that the Xiaomi Civi camera block is shaped like a rectangle rather than a square with rounded corners like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE. It looks more like Xiaomi 11T camera or Poco M3 Pro. The front panel also doesn’t look like the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE — with the camera built into the center of the screen instead of in the corner.

And most importantly, the camera’s image sensor. If the Xiaomi 11 Lite 5G NE has a 64MP sensor, then the Civi is assigned the 108MP Samsung ISOCELL HM3 sensor — the exact same one used in the Galaxy S21 Ultra! But the cost of Civi will clearly be less than that of the current Samsung flagship. Overall, the new data gives hope that Civi will prove to be a model in its own right and continue the tradition laid down in the Mi Note 10 Pro (Mi CC9 Pro), a popular mid-range camera phone. Recall that the official premiere of Xiaomi Civi will take place on September 27.
