Honor was able to bypass not only Huawei, but also Xiaomi, along with Apple, in the Chinese smartphone market. However, there is one caveat.
What happened?
The China Daily, citing the analytical agency Cinno Research, reports that Honor managed to take third place in the Chinese market. Thus, he was second only to OPPO and Vivo, while ahead of Huawei, Xiaomi and Apple.
However, there is no evidence for this. The source says how many smartphones have been shipped by all companies except Honor. Specifically, OPPO shipped 5.6 million units, Vivo 5.3 million, Xiaomi 3.9 million and Apple 3 million. There are no numbers for Honor.
Moreover, this information differs from the data of the analytical agency Counterpoint. According to the latest, Vivo led the Chinese market with a 23% share in the second quarter of 2021. Shares of OPPO Xiaomi and Apple were 21%, 17% and 14% respectively. At the same time, Huawei took 10% of the market, and Honor — 8.4%.
