Recently, smartphone manufacturers have been trying to somehow diversify the design of their models, coming up with an original camera design, a cutout for the front panel, or different colors. Xiaomi also keeps up with fashion trends.

A Chinese digital chat insider reports that Xiaomi is testing a device with a photochromic or electrochromic back panel, meaning it will be able to change its color with some exposure.
So, the photochromic panel is used in the Vivo S10 smartphone (pictured). Its color changes from orange to blue in direct sunlight, that is, the process occurs under the influence of ultraviolet rays.
On the other hand, there is the OPPO Reno6 Pro+ Detective Conan Edition with an electrochromic back panel. It changes color from silver to red and back again when voltage is passed through the glass.
It is not yet known which of these technologies Xiaomi will choose. It’s also unclear exactly how the phone will receive these materials and whether it will be a concept or a finished device.
