Xiaomi developers are constantly working on modifying branded smartphones and releasing a huge number of devices with various functions that satisfy any whim of consumers. However, this insatiable thirst for expanding the range sometimes misleads buyers. For example, it is known that in the near future a new low-cost smartphone under the Redmi Note 10 Lite brand will be presented in India. However, Twitter’s Kasper Skrzypek tried to find out how «new» this model would be.

According to the expert, Redmi Note 10 Lite (model code number «2109106A1I») will be a modification for the Indian market of the global model Redmi Note 9S, which is already sold in India under the Redmi Note 9 Pro brand. It is quite easy to get confused about Xiaomi smartphones because the company has released eight modifications of the Redmi Note 10 series released this year.

Casper Skshipek came to such a strange conclusion after he discovered that Redmi Note 10 Lite, in addition to the cipher «2109106A1I», received the code name «curtana», under which the Indian modification of Redmi Note 9 Pro or the global redmi note 9s version.

Notably, Redmi Note 9 Pro entered the Indian market in March 2020. Thus, the Indian market will receive an allegedly slightly modified version of the smartphone, which has already been known to the consumer for almost a year and a half.

We can conclude that the Redmi Note 10 Lite model will be released based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, the screen will receive an IPS matrix with a diagonal of 6.67 inches, a resolution of 1080 × 2400 and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The main camera of the smartphone can have 4 sensors: wide-angle 64 MP, 8 MP ultra wide, 5 MP macro and 2 MP depth sensor. The battery will receive a capacity of 5020 mAh with support for fast charging with a power of 30 watts.

As of today, there is no information on the price of Redmi Note 10 Lite and its cost can only be «calculated» based on the price of Redmi Note 9 Pro (March 2020). In the modification with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of permanent memory, the price of last year’s smartphone was $175, while the model with 6 and 128 GB options was estimated at $215. How much a possible modification of last year’s smartphone Redmi Note 9 Pro (Redmi Note 9S) will affect the price, the near future will show.
