The firmware scandal is flaring up again: many so-called Mi fans suddenly found out that they were excluded from the internal testing team and were not allowed to participate in testing new builds of MIUI.

According to user reports, they received a notification from the MIUI firmware development team that they did not evaluate the current beta version of the firmware last week and therefore were suspended from the project. At the same time, many have confirmed that they were excluded from the beta test team out of the blue, without giving a specific reason.

Xiaomi’s actions angered many fans, among whom were quite experienced users who have been participating in MIUI internal testing for years. They started messaging directly to Xiaomi founder and CEO Lei Jun on his Weibo page. However, the head of the company is still silent.

Xiaomi held a big press conference last week. In addition to the flagship Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 tablets, the CyberDog robot and the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 series tablets, the company has introduced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition. This is an improved version of the corporate interface, which the company’s flagship models will receive before the end of the month.

MIUI 12.5 Enhanced Edition will initially be available to users of Mi Mix 4, Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, Mi 10S, as well as Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K30S Supreme Anniversary Edition and Redmi K30 Pro.
