Xiaomi today introduced the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro, the company’s first tablets in three years. In addition to modern components, they will also bring with them a new version of MIUI called MIUI for Pad.

MIUI for Pad is essentially a redesigned version of MIUI 12.5 for tablets. It is known that many Android applications do not yet support full screen mode. However, Xiaomi claims that MIUI for Pad offers a full-screen app experience along with split-screen mode.

At the same time, the company also mentions that only over 300 core apps are well-optimized for MIUI for Pad. At the conference, Xiaomi officially announced that it will be adapting over 2,000 apps for MIUI for Pad by the end of the year.

Xiaomi is asking app developers to join the Xiaomi open platform to improve the health of the tablet app ecosystem.
