As expected, Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship smartphone of the Xiaomi Mi Mix series — the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 — at today’s launch event in China.
Xiaomi has been neglecting the Mi Mix series for a long time now. At the end of 2019, Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha was introduced with a wraparound screen, but it never appeared on store shelves, even in a limited edition.
The latest smartphone in the lineup, Mi Mix 3, was released in autumn 2018 (Mi Mix 3 5G followed in February 2019). Thus, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 smartphone debuted just two and a half years after the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G hit the market.
Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 was the first Xiaomi smartphone with a front camera «hidden» under the screen, which becomes visible only when necessary.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.67-inch OLED screen, and the resolution of the «hidden» front camera is 20 megapixels.
