The versatile home camera is a simple and useful thing. You can remotely monitor the apartment, use it as a «baby monitor» or for video communication.
Equipment and appearance
The camera comes in a simple cardboard box. Speaking of the package, it’s worth noting that there’s a USB to microUSB cable, but no power adapter. Any standard will do. Yes, and it is powered by Powerbank.
The platform for fastening to a surface is included in the package. The camera clings to this platform later: I inserted it and rotated it.
The design is neat and concise. There is no control in this case. On the back side there is a speaker and a microUSB connector. The connector absolutely fits, no type-C is needed here.
The microSD card slot is hidden at the bottom of the sphere. There is also a reset button.
Inclusion
There is no adapter included, but the microUSB has a long two-meter USB cable.

When turned on, the camera motor will rotate left and right, and then for some reason, a synthetic female voice in English will suggest looking at the bottom of the camera, where the QR code is located, and adding the camera to the Mi Home application.

A memory card must be inserted into the camera, otherwise it will save a maximum of 10-second fragments in the Xiaomi proprietary cloud when motion is detected. Once the card is in the camera, you can save it to the camera and also set up the NAS.

The undoubted bonus of the camera is that you can share access to it with family members. Relatively speaking, an advanced grandmother in another city or a vigilant wife on a business trip will be able to connect remotely to see what is happening at home. At the same time, there is a microphone icon on the home screen. You can click on it, say something, and see how everyone immediately turns gray with fear when the camera speaker with a certain metallic sheen transmits your words.
The camera can work not only from the outlet, but also from the battery. So you can take it with you on the road if you need it.
Xiaomi smart home is compatible with Alice and Marusya, so you can control the device by voice.
The camera has the usual automation settings typical of the Xiaomi «If. Then» ecosystem. For example, if the camera detects movement, then turn on the light and send the robot cleaner to attack.
Perhaps the only downside is that you can add a NAS, but there is no support for other cloud services. For example, I have 50 GB available in the cloud from Mail.Ru. It would be convenient to keep it there.
