On the official account of Xiaomi in the Chinese social network Weibo, a commercial video lasting 56 seconds has been published, during which the unboxing and launch of the «flagship flagship» Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra takes place.
The video shows a user with scuba gear and a mask unpacking a new Xiaomi smartphone underwater and successfully putting it into operation. It then takes a few shots with the main camera, which has propelled the smartphone to the top of the DxOMark benchmark rankings by using the industry’s largest 1/1.12″ 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN2 sensor.
It is known that Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra received water protection corresponding to the IP68 standard, and for additional reliability, the developers used a special «safety valve» that prevents water from entering the smartphone when immersed in depth.
Representatives of the company noted that the video was released on the eve of the global presentation of the smartphone and at the same time warned that it was not worth repeating the Xiaomi Mi11 Ultra immersion experiment. This is due to the fact that the touch screen is unstable under water, and the IP68 protection class provides only a short stay in water up to 30 minutes at a depth of 1.5 meters.
