Today, during the spring conference, Xiaomi introduced its first image processor — Surge C1. Recall that in 2017 the company launched the Surge S1 mobile processor, which was used in a couple of branded smartphones, but was never widely used.

Unlike SurgeS 1, the new chip is a signal processor (ISP), an independent image processing chip for smartphones. It uses complex algorithms that allow smartphones to perform advanced image processing. Splash C1 is responsible for autofocus, white balance and autoexposure. The company claims that thanks to the new chip, the efficiency of working with digital images is increased by 100%.

The new signal processor made its debut in the Xiaomi Mix Fold foldable smartphone unveiled earlier today. The company is expected to introduce more devices with the Surge C1 chip in the near future.
