On March 29, Xiaomi showed the new flagships of the Mi 11 series and the Mi Band 6 fitness tracker, and a day later, the manufacturer released an equally interesting Mi MIX Fold smartphone. As the name suggests, this is the company’s first foldable novelty.

In terms of form factor, this is a complete analog of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate X2. Mi MIX Fold also has an external screen for using the device in smartphone format and a large drop-down display that turns the novelty into a tablet.

The large OLED screen has a diagonal of 8.01 inches, a resolution of 2480 × 1860 pixels and a brightness of up to 600 nits. There is support for Dolby Vision and HDR10+. There are no holes or cutouts here. The outer screen has a diagonal of 6.52 inches, a resolution of 2520 × 840 pixels and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. There is a hole for a selfie camera in the corner.

The main camera received three modules with a 108 MP main sensor, a 13 MP TV with an innovative «liquid lens» and an 8 MP (123º) wide-angle sensor. The image is processed by the latest proprietary Surge C1 chip. In addition, the novelty is equipped with four Harman / Kardon speakers at once for truly surround sound.

Responsible for performance is the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor with 5G support, Wi-Fi 6 and fast LPDDR5 memory. The device is controlled by a special version of MIUI with support for smart split screen and desktop mode.

Autonomous operation is provided by a 5,020 mAh battery with 67 W charging support, like the top-end Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra.

Xiaomi Mi MIX Fold prices are as follows:

  • 12/26 GB: 9,999 yuan (115,420 rubles);
  • 12/512 GB: 10,999 yuan (127,000 rubles);
  • 16/512 GB: 12,999 yuan (151,000 rubles).
