Xiaomi has officially announced the older models of the 2021 flagship line — Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra. They differ from conventional Mi-11s not only in design, but also in improved performance and cameras.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra

The smartphone is equipped with the top-end Snapdragon 888 processor with the latest cooling system, thanks to which the novelty will show better performance than other flagships with the same chip. Its 6.81-inch curved S-AMOLED display has 2K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Dolby Vision technology is supported.

Mi 11 Ultra is equipped with the latest Samsung ISOCELL GN2 50 MP 1/1.12-inch camera with Dual Pixel Pro dual focus system. It is accompanied by a 48-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a TV lens of the same resolution providing 120x digital zoom. The camera can shoot video in 8K and slow motion at up to 1920 fps.

The novelty allows you to shoot an image simultaneously on 2 cameras (for example, on the main and front or main and wide-angle) and display a preview in 6 options at once (for example, from four cameras + two options with different degrees of zoom). For mobile videographers, it is possible to shoot on two Mi 11 Ultra in a bundle.

The camera module has become so wide not only for the sake of symmetry: in addition to optics and a flash, it also houses a display that displays the time and notifications — a kind of AlwaysOn miniature. This display can also be used as a preview window for taking selfies with the main camera.

The 5000mAh battery supports 67W fast charging (wire on and off) and 10W reverse charging to power other Qi-charged devices. The battery is also new: it is made using a silicon dioxide anode. This made it thinner, lighter, and faster to charge. Harman / Kardon is responsible for the sound, as is the case with the regular Mi 11.

This model is the first in the manufacturer’s line to receive IP68 moisture protection. For the sake of the experiment, he was immersed in water to a depth of 42 meters for 5-6 minutes, and he survived it without problems.

The smartphone will be available only in classic black and white color, the back panel is made of ceramics.

In line with current trends, the charging adapter and cable will not be included by default, but if desired, buyers will be able to get them for free, as was the case with the regular Mi 11.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro

This version is very similar to the Mi 11 Ultra down to the size and resolution of the display, but it doesn’t have a secondary screen on the back. The cameras here are also simpler: although the main module is the same, the wide-angle camera has a resolution of 13 MP instead of 48, and the 8-megapixel TV speaker provides «only» 50x digital zoom (and 5x optical)

Despite the impressive battery capacity of 5000 mAh (it is completely similar to the ultra-model), the novelty weighs only 208 grams. Like the older model, this version is IP68 waterproof.

Unlike the Ultra, it uses a more traditional combination of glass and metal. The smartphone will be available in black, emerald green and pale purple colors. Prices are already known:

  • 8/26 GB — 5,299 yuan (61,360 rubles)
  • 12/26 GB — 5,699 yuan (66,990 rubles)

Previously, there were rumors that the Pro version would not be released outside of China, but at the presentation, Xiaomi has not yet announced the international availability of any of the new products: as a result, only Chinese device modifications have been shown so far.

The material is being updated.
