Lu Weibung, President of Xiaomi Group China and CEO of Redmi, posted a hint on the camera configuration of the next smartphone on his Weibo page.
He recalled that last year’s Chinese smartphone Redmi Note 9 Pro received a main camera with a main Samsung HM2 sensor with a resolution of 108 MP (12,000 x 9,000 pixels). This sensor has a 1/1.52″ optical format and a 0.7 micron pixel size.
Recently, I thought that the main camera of Redmi Note 9 Pro received a 108-megapixel sensor. What if we install two such 1/1. 52-inch optical sensors in a smartphone? Will you be interested in this phone?

In the comments, some users remind Lu Weibing that today’s 108-megapixel sensors are considered by many to be the wrong direction. Others recommend abandoning the idea of two 108-megapixel cameras in favor of installing more modern and light-sensitive image sensors.
As experience shows, such surveys are usually carried out when Xiaomi has almost finished the corresponding smartphone.
