As part of a large presentation in China, Xiaomi announced a series of flagship smartphones Redmi K40. It includes three models: Redmi K40, Redmi K40 Pro and Redmi K40 Pro+.

Redmi K40

Externally, the Redmi K40 smartphone turned out to be similar to Xiaomi Mi 11, especially in the design of the photomodule. One of the highlights here is a 6.67-inch E4 generation AMOLED flat screen with up to 1300 nits of brightness, 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, True Tone technology, 120Hz refresh rate, and 360Hz sensor sampling rate. According to the manufacturer, this is one of the best displays on the market.

At the heart of the smartphone is a 5G Snapdragon 870 chip with a maximum frequency of up to 3.2 GHz, which is an evolution of the current Snapdragon 865. The processor is complemented by 6, 8 or 12 GB LPDDR5 RAM, as well as 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.1 storage. The built-in 4520mAh battery supports 33W fast charging.

The main camera of Redmi K40 is represented by 48 MP (main), 8 MP (wide-angle) and 5 MP (macro) sensors. According to the developers, Redmi K40 is especially good in macro mode. As for the selfie camera, it has 20MP and is built into a minimal (2.76mm) hole in the display.

The model is also equipped with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1, stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos technology, NFC chip, IR transmitter, protection against drops and splashes (IP53) and dual-band GPS module. At the same time, the smartphone turned out to be quite thin — the thickness was 7.8 mm with a weight of 196 grams.

Redmi K40 Pro and K40 Pro+

This model is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, complemented by an Adreno 660 graphics accelerator. In addition, the main camera is different from the main sensor — it is 64 MP, not 48 MP.

The top-end Redmi K40 Pro+ also received a Snapdragon 888, but the camera is even better with a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 sensor, like the Xiaomi Mi 11. For selfies, a 32-megapixel module is used.

Prices look like this:

  • Redmi K40: from 1,999 yuan (22,900 rubles);
  • Redmi K40 Pro: from 2,799 yuan (32,000 rubles);
  • Redmi K40 Pro +: from 3699 yuan (42,300 rubles).
