How so?

According to GSMArena, 25 out of 35 smartphones announced by the company in 2021 support fifth-generation mobile networks. Since 2020, Xiaomi has launched almost 50 models equipped with a 5G modem, while about 90 new products have been added to the range.

In the second quarter of 2021, the company shipped 24 million 5G smartphones, including POCO and Redmi models, according to Strategy Analytics, giving it a 25.7% market share. Vivo took second place with an 18.5% share. OPPO, Samsung and Realme took 17.9%, 16.7% and 5.9% of the market respectively.

Experts from Strategy Analytics noted that the main reason for the success of Xiaomi was the release of a large number of low-cost smartphones with 5G support. For example, Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, which was introduced in late spring and immediately became a bestseller in China.
