Xiaomi is preparing to take the big step of dropping the Mi brand from its product names, which first debuted a decade ago with the launch of the company’s first smartphone. This was reported by the XDA Developers thematic resource, citing a company representative.

According to a Xiaomi spokesperson, the change began with the innovative Mix 4 smartphone unveiled on August 10, 2021, and all future Xiaomi products will follow suit.

Although the company is best known for its smartphones, Xiaomi also sells many products in various categories, including TVs, laptops, refrigerators, slow cookers, smartwatches, electric scooters, robotic vacuum cleaners, hair dryers, and more.

Most of these devices are currently under the Mi brand. But in the future, Mi will disappear from the name of all new Xiaomi products.
