Starting tomorrow, Xiaomi will begin testing a new widget system for the MIUI proprietary shell, similar in style to iOS widgets. As it turned out, the list of smartphones whose users can take part in testing is noticeably wider than the list of models that the new MIUI 12.5 with improvement becomes available to.

As we already wrote, the requirements for testers are as follows: a phone based on Android 11 and a test version of MIUI. Now the exact models approved for testing have become known:

Users of the Chinese version of MIUI will be the first to test the new widget system. Among the major changes are new 2 x 2, 4 x 2, 4 x 4 and 2 x 3 grid options, four widget sizes, a widget store, a rich assortment of system widgets to manage memory, clock, health and more, as well as free drag and drop and widget sorting.
